Cardinals

Jan. 3, 2012 No Comments Posted under: Birds

Cardinals are a great combination of familiarity, conspicuousness, and style; they are very popular among birders and non birders alike…who can miss them? They get their red feathers from eating berries and other red foods. In summer, their sweet whistles are one of the first sounds of the morning.

House Wren Family

Gentle Garden’s House Wrens make their home in the same little house each year. The Daddy wren arrives first to choose a house. He works very hard putting twigs in several houses. When Mom comes, she makes her choice and takes out all of his twigs and rebuilds the nest. All the while, the Daddy wren sings and sings. It’s an amazing joy to have them fill Gentle Gardens with their presence.

Gentle Gardens birds are busy, busy, talking, talking. They greet us each day, but seem to have a different purpose…maybe soon we’ll have some babies in the bird houses. Blessings to you from the Birds in Gentle Gardens

The Birds at Gentle Gardens, they are full of antics, lots of song, and are always hungry. It seems they expect me to be up at the crack of dawn too, filling their feeders and water bowl.
