House Wren Family

Gentle Garden’s House Wrens return to this same little house each year.  They are not afraid of us as we work all around their home; right underneath is our strawberry patch. They mostly ignore us until the babies are ready to take flight.  In this picture, the fledglings can be heard asking for more, more, more food and we think Mom is taking a quick rest. As the fledglings begin to try out their wings and take flight, the parents make a VERY big racket…it’s a wonderful sight to see them. Next door, our neighbor also has a house that is occupied, so the wren song is heard all throughout Gentle Gardens.
