Look at those sunflowers, I couldn’t reach the top of them, they grew like Jack in the Bean Stalk…I was hoping to find a hen laying a golden egg at the top…no such luck…the birds soon found them and long before they were picked and stored for the birds for their winter food, they had eaten their fill…and so every year I buy sunflower oilers to feed the birds.

I keep on planting them at Gentle Gardens, just to see the smiling, nodding faces, beckening the sun to come…stay a while in the garden.  “Consider how the lilies grow.  They do not labor or spin. Yet, I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these”. Luke 12:27  And, so, though not lilies, the sunflowers becken us to rest, stay a while, sit in the sun and let go and let God.
