Gorgeous Gardens…Reblooming Lilac Syringa Bloomerang(TM) …a lilac that reblooms!

New dwarf lilac Bloomerang(tm) covers itself with clusters of purple-pink, sweetly scented blooms in May, and then continues flowering off and on throughout the summer.  This lilac grows just 4-5 feet tall, and is a perfect foundation plant or for small gardens.  Plant several together and create a wonderful fragrant hedge.  They are easy to grow and love full sun with average, well-drained soil.  They do need some protection, however, as they are hardy in zones 5-7…I always feel that I’m pushing the envelope when I use zone 5 plants here in MN, but so far, I’ve been blessed to have those plants do well…they just take off a little slower.

Gentle Gardens has three of these that were merely seedlings at that time of planting two years ago.  I look for them to really take off this year.  They are a fun addition to the very large, old fashioned lilac shrubs that I brought from Mom’s…one is purple and one is white.
